Mermaid or Cow?

Finally back on the road again! After a kind of hibernation with office- and pool work only, travel season has started again. We are visiting the Florida Manatees in Crystal River and Homosassa/Citrus County. After two good days at the beginning, we are not very lucky in the Sunshine State: heavy rain and cold weather has stopped our work recently. Please keep fingers crossed for the next few days!

The last few days we have been at Siladen Island/Bunaken Marine Park. We have enjoyed our stay in Siladen Resort & Spa, http://www.siladen.com
Beside the very recommendable Resort, they also have an incredible housereef which is good for wideangle and macro photos at once! Just at the beginning of a dive we met this little boxing champion, the famous boxer crab Lybia tesselata.

Eye of the Tiger

Finally I found some time to continue with my blog – sorry for waiting! ;-))
Last week I was doing a photo-workshop for interested underwater-photographers at Eco Divers Lembeh Resort (www.eco-divers.com). By the way: my favorite diving the Lembeh Strait! And after 3-4 dives per day and some photo presentations and talks, there was no time left for doing the blog …
But here a quite nice Tiger Shrimp (Phyllgnathia ceratophthalmus) from Lembeh.

Harry the Frogfish

Our white hairy frogfish was tired and hungry.

At last we did our first dives in Lembeh Strait after a break of 3 years.
But all seems to be the same – lots of nudis, a tiny Rhinopias, hairy frogfish, wonderpus and 2 giant frogfish said „welcome back“ to us! 😉
Also still the same: after 4 dives today and camerawork: tired …

Anthias anthias

One of the most beautiful fish in the Mediterranean Sea. And also a very clever one – they live in harems with a male boss 😉

Red Gorgonians

Great wall diving at the divesite „Picchi di Pablo“ close to Porto Azzuro.
We recommend the divecenter „Omnisub“ http://www.omnisub.com
